Istanbul has been my home for 10 years now.
My English teaching career began here 8 years ago with the British Council and, when they ceased to teach English in Turkey, my first choice of school was certainly EFINST (originally known as International House then) because I liked the owner, the Turkish management and staff, their senior foreign teachers and they had by far the best reputation both for their standard of teaching and for their good employment of foreign teachers.
After starting with them part-time, I joined them full-time some 5 years ago and, with their group health insurance scheme, prompt provision of residence permits, super friendly atmosphere and interesting students, I am very happy working here.

In 2008, I decided to return to Istanbul to work as an English teacher. Before coming back, I had spoken with some friends to learn about the better language schools in the city; they all talked about EFINST. I applied for a job with EF and promptly received an offer of employment after a thorough interview.
I have been with the school for almost two years. I have had the privilege to work with great teachers in a very positive environment.
Not only do the teachers support one another by offering ideas and sharing materials, but also the school's staff tries to take care of the administrative details so that we can focus on our classes.
Which leads me to the best part about working at EFINST: we have a great student profile. Our students tend to be young professionals intent on improving their English. They really make an effort in class to learn and use the language, which makes the job fun and rewarding.
