EFINST Levent

The Levent branch is situated in 1.Levent, one of the main business districts in Istanbul. Since 2003, when we outgrew our previous location, we have occupied a large, modern 6-storey building on a relatively calm, green street just off the main road. We currently average 40 teachers and 16 administration staff and have 23 classrooms of varying size. Due to our size EFINST Levent has an experienced senior academic team to enable us to give support to all our teachers. On the ground floor of our building is ‘Canteen’ an indoor/ outdoor restaurant favoured by our students, teachers and local businesspeople.

Apparently this area was all farms and fields as little as 20 years ago, but it is difficult to imagine that now as the area is known more for popular upmarket shopping centres (Kanyon, Akmerkez, Metrocity, Astoria) and the headquarters of many large local and international companies. The surrounding residential suburbs of Etiler and Ulus are relaxed, modern and favoured by expats of many nationalities, which is reflected in our morning ‘Smart Ladies’ classes. We are probably one of the few schools in Istanbul where you can really teach multilingual adult groups that include students from Japan, Korea, Russia, the Ukraine, Spain, Iraq and beyond. Many of these students also attend EFINST Levent’s Turkish Department, giving our school an international flavour.
While Etiler can be hectic, it is close enough to the attractive and cosmopolitan Bosphorus towns of Bebek, Arnavutköy and Ortaköy that teachers with a break between classes can get away for some relaxation by the water in any number of open-air cafes and parks a short taxi or bus ride away.

Our handy proximity to the central downtown district of Beyoğlu/ Taksim makes that a popular choice for accommodation for teachers who like to enjoy Istanbul’s varied nightlife and the buzzing atmosphere of Istiklal, the famous pedestrian street filled with shops, cafes, bars and people-watchers. Another good choice (if there is space) is our school apartment in Ortaköy; a modern triplex in a safe residential area with a fantastic terrace boasting one of the best Bosphorus views to be had.
EFINST Levent runs a full range of courses year-round including General and Business English, ESP, TOEIC/ TOEFL and SBS preparation, Young Learners, intensive private and group classes, and is also a test centre for the TOEFL-iBT.
